We are pleased to be teaming with Melissa Garza, Barry Rothstein and Shyam Kannapurakkaran for our Summer Camp 2014.

Producer/Director Melissa Garza
Melissa Garza is known for her work on Avatar (2009), TRON: Legacy (2010) and Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009).
Her most recent credit was working for Digital Domain as a Digital Coordinator for Tron Legacy. Previously she worked with Super 78 Films as a Production Coordinator for a DreamWorks theme park attraction called “Donkey Live!” for Universal Studios, Singapore. She also worked at Giant Studios, where she learned a lot about motion capture and had an opportunity to work on Avatar, Night at the Museum 2, Tintin (preproduction) and much more. She also Assistant Directed “Country Stepping” a dance reality show TV pilot for CMT. Her Directing credits include web commercials for Go Daddy, Chipotle and The Public Health Department. She is currently working as the Executive Producer and is focusing her efforts on finding more financing for this project. As an entrepreneur, she created glow wings to support this film as well. Her mission is to entertain and inspire young girls and women to make better choices in relationships, be confident, and explore artistic/technical career fields.

Barry Rothstein has authored several books using the 3D Phantogram process. He creates new imagery daily and holds an annual 3D Photography competition.

Stereoscopic Artist Feature Animation, Shyam Kannapurakkaran

Shyam Kannapurakkaran  is a stereographer, artist, designer and educator based in Los Angeles, California. Shyam received a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Calicut University, India in 2002 and a Master of Science degree in Visualization from Texas A&M University in 2010. During his graduate studies, Shyam focussed on stereoscopy and its influence on audience experience. His masters thesis, Eye Collage 3D (2010), is an interactive stereoscopic installation that demonstrates the experience of human visual observation. During this time, he also worked as the set dresser and lighting assistant on the award-winning music video, It Had to Be You (2008), for the band Motion City Soundtrack. Shyam has a passion for sculpting light as a photographer, cinematographer, and stereographer and has had a variety of experiences working in these fields. He has worked in the stereographic pipeline of feature film production such as Disney’s Wreck-It-Ralph (2012), but also independently shoots stereo as in the award-winning experimental short film Tarang (2012), where he designed and fabricated his own rig to shoot stereoscopic shots. His stereography work has been exhibited at several venues like Art Step (2007, 2008, 2009), Pasadena Art Night, Big Bear Film Festival, Maker Faire and continues to explore the medium by collaborating as a stereographer and digital artist on several experimental multimedia projects.
